Chestnut Ridge is a very giving congregation, seeking to graciously share what God has given to us with our community and our world. Each month we focus on a particular community organization or need. Some of the local groups we have worked with include The Seamless Garment Ministry, Cobb Center for Family Resources, Foreverfamily, and The Disciples Food Pantry. We are a part of Cobb Faith Partnership which brings together many organizations who seek to effectively serve the Greater Cobb County area by meeting the needs of our community.

Each year we join with other Christian Church (Disciple of Christ) churches in the Greater Atlanta area for a day of mission within downtown Atlanta. Hundreds of Disciples join together as a part of More Hands for God Day as we reach into one of the most at-risk parts of Atlanta to feed the hungry, provide a day of fun for children, host a Health Clinic, and prepare hygiene kits for the homeless. We work with the City of Refuge Mission.

We also reach our ministry around the world. The Heifer Project is very dear to our hearts, with one of our members helping to raise one of the very first heifers which was given overseas, and who recently participated on a Mission Trip to Poland through the Heifer Project. Through the ministry of Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services of Atlanta, we have welcomed many families in crisis when they arrived to settle in Metro Atlanta after years of waiting to be approved of entering the United States.   Through our Week of Compassion Offering, we have a presence when a natural disaster occurs around the globe, and as we seek to improve the lives of refugees in war-torn areas. By giving throughout the year to our denomination's Disciple Mission Fund, we help missionaries share the love of Christ around the world through Disciples Global Missions.
